Photography Practice
I’ve always been interested in cameras. When I was younger, I would often ask for disposable cameras. However, since developing the film was expensive, I only received them on special occasions.
When digital point-and-shoot cameras became more affordable, my parents gave me one for Christmas. I loved it, but I missed the tangible photos I used to get after having my film developed. At the time, I had not learned how to process digital photos, and my small high school didn’t offer any photography classes.
Fast forward several years, and I’m still learning how to use cameras. Fortunately, my husband is also passionate about photography and has taught me much of what I know today. One of the key things I am focused on learning is how to capture the emotions I feel in the moment I lift my camera to my eye.
I shoot on my grandfather’s Pentax A3000, a Sony A7 II, and iPhone.
